Today, kudzu is estimated to cover 3,000,000 hectares (7,400,00 acres) of land in the southeastern United States, mainly in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, and Mississippi. It has spread to 30 states, as indicated by the map below, courtesy of EDD maps.
