In 2023, kudzu was primarily found east of Frederick County and on the lower Eastern Shore in Maryland. According to the UMD Extension, it has also spread as far north as central Maryland. Kudzu is known for its rapid growth and ability to smother other vegetation, making it a significant invasive species.
